GRM Overseas Limited (NSE: GRMOVER), among India's largest basmati exporters to the Middle East, is converting decades of private-label export relationships into branded retail distribution across the GCC and Europe. Three moves anchor the expansion:
- Saudi Arabia — Seven Star partnership (October 2025). GRM signed a distribution agreement with Seven Star Company Limited to place its 10X basmati range across Seven Star's retail and distribution network in Saudi Arabia, GRM's single largest branded-rice opportunity in the Gulf.
- UAE — GRM Arabia FZCO, Dubai. GRM acquired full ownership of GRM Arabia FZCO, a DMCC-registered Dubai subsidiary, as its dedicated Middle East trading, distribution and marketing hub — cutting logistics lead times and giving GRM a permanent base in the region's largest re-export market. This builds on earlier retail entry that placed the Tanoush brand in Carrefour hypermarkets in the UAE through MAN Consumer.
- Europe and new markets. GRM continues to supply private-label basmati to large European retailers while rolling out its own brands — including an exclusive distribution agreement with Solariz Invest covering Morocco for Tanoush.
Why it matters
Branded sales earn structurally better margins than bulk private label, and the GCC — Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain — is the world's most concentrated basmati consumption zone. GRM's international business targets roughly doubling to ₹1,500 crore by FY28, from ₹783 crore in FY25, with brand-led GCC growth as a core driver.
GRM ships to 65+ countries from plants at Panipat, Naultha and Kandla with a combined capacity of over 440,800 MT per year, under the 10X, Himalaya River and Tanoush brands.
