Basmati Rice Exporter to Saudi Arabia

GRM Overseas exports basmati to Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest basmati importer: 1121 sella, golden sella and steam, 10X brand via Seven Star, private label.

GRM Overseas exports basmati rice to Saudi Arabia, consistently the single largest basmati importer in the world. GRM supplies 1121 sella, golden sella and steam in retail and bulk packs, and in October 2025 signed a distribution agreement with Seven Star Company Limited to place its 10X basmati range across Seven Star’s retail and distribution network in the Kingdom.

Demand and what buyers choose

  • The GCC is the deepest basmati market globally, with steady volume growth and a clear shift towards branded retail packs and HoReCa-grade golden sella.
  • Importers in the Kingdom commonly buy 1121 sella and steam, and golden sella for biryani, mandi and kabsa.

GRM in Saudi Arabia

  • Distribution: 10X basmati through Seven Star Company Limited (agreement signed October 2025).
  • Dubai hub: GRM Arabia FZCO, a wholly owned DMCC-registered subsidiary, serves as GRM’s Middle East trading, distribution and marketing base.

Compliance and what importers check

  • Food imports into Saudi Arabia are regulated by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA); consignments are checked at the port of entry.
  • Buyers usually ask for the crop year, moisture, grain length and purity of each lot, plus the food-safety certifications of the plant. GRM’s plants hold ISO 22000, BRCGS, GMP, SQF and Halal certification.
  • Arabic-language labelling for retail packs can be arranged through the private-label programme.

Ports, shipment and terms

  • Shipments leave from the Kandla and Mundra ports on India’s west coast, close to GRM’s warehousing.
  • Orders are planned by container load: a 20 ft container carries about 20–24 MT and a 40 ft container about 26–28 MT.
  • Export prices are quoted per metric ton, FOB Indian port or CIF destination, by variety and processing type. Current prices, minimum order and sample terms are confirmed on request.
  • Pack sizes run from 1 kg to 50 kg in jute, PP, BOPP and non-woven bags and pouches, with private-label artwork available.
